What it does and when to use it
Section titled “What it does and when to use it”A shop platform is one way to bring people and their activity into Azimea. Everything else connects through the same few doors: your own application, a CRM or other business software, or an automation tool in between. Once the data is in, flows, campaigns, segments, reports and the sending itself work exactly as they do for a shop.
Use this section when you have no shop to connect, or when some of your people live in another system as well.
Ways to connect
Section titled “Ways to connect”| Your situation | Way in | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| You have your own application or platform, and a developer | The Azimea API: contacts, events, transactional email | Your own application |
| You use Zapier, Make or n8n, or want to connect without code | An HTTP call from the tool, to one flow or to the API | Zapier, Make and n8n |
| Your people are in a CRM, an ERP, a booking or membership system | A file export, the tool’s own automations, and SMTP for its emails | A CRM or other software |
You can combine them: for example, a CSV import today, and events from your application once a developer adds them.
What each way brings
Section titled “What each way brings”| Door | What arrives in Azimea | What it can start |
|---|---|---|
| Contacts (API or a CSV file) | People, with their fields, tags and consent | Campaigns and segments |
| Events (API) | What a person did: an account created, a step finished, a payment made | Flows start, stop and branch; an event can count as a conversion |
| A flow’s API trigger | One call, for one person, into one flow | That flow only |
| Transactional email (API or SMTP) | The system’s own one-off emails: codes, confirmations, alerts | Nothing: they are sent and tracked |
| Webhooks (out of Azimea) | Delivery, open, click, bounce and complaint statuses sent back to your system | Whatever your system does with them |
Set up the account for it
Section titled “Set up the account for it”When you create the account, What kind of business are you? offers An app or digital service. Choose it when you have no shop: the ready-made flows, the starter emails and the words on screen then talk about users and accounts instead of orders and carts. It is a preset, not a lock: change it any time in Settings › Company, and nothing is lost.
What a shop brings on its own, you send yourself here:
- No orders or carts arrive unless your system sends them as events, so the abandoned-cart flow does not apply.
- Results are conversions, not orders: mark the events that matter (an account activated, a plan bought) as conversions in Settings › Events, and reports count them after each email and flow.
- Consent is what you send with each contact, or what you choose for a whole imported file. Set how you collect it in Settings › Consent.
The sending rules do not change: emails go out from your verified domain, unsubscribes and suppressed addresses are respected, and your plan’s limits apply.
Set it up in the dashboard
Section titled “Set it up in the dashboard”- Verify your sending domain.
- Choose the way in from the table above and follow its guide.
- Watch Settings › Events: every event name your account received is listed there, with its properties and how many arrived in the last 30 days.
- Build a flow on those events, and try it in a sandbox first.
